Tudor Lodge

On Sunday 5th October we presented some musical numbers to celebrate one of the residents 100th birthday. The children performed numbers from the recent production of Oliver, as well as Team Work from Chitty Chitty Bang Bangand other numbers from the BWA Cabaret. The Mayor of Croydon was there to watch.

One World Project

The BWA Touring Co were asked to perform at the Drummond Centre Croydon. The One World Project was from the 19th-26th October and has been running for 25 years.

Summer School

Our Summer School in 2003 was The Lion King

Tonbridge Festival

During the Easter Holidays for one week

Oliver

On the 22nd-26th April 2003 a number of our staff and pupils were involved in the Croydon Stagers production of Oliver at the Ashcroft Theatre, Croydon.

Croydon Car Free Day Event

On Saturday 22nd September a number of own BWA students appeared on the streets of Croydon to support this event.

Annie

From the 24th-28th April 2001, 14 of students appeared in the Croydon Stagers production of Annie at the Ashcroft Theatre, Croydon.

Summer School                            

Our Summer School in 2001 was Mamma Mia               

Turandot

On Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th November 2001 some of our very own BWA students appeared in the Chisinau National Opera production of Turandot at the Royal Albert Hall.

NATHDA

We entered the play Chaos and Order which was written by our Drama Teacher June Stimson. The cast was made up of 42 members of our drama students. The adjudicator awarded us The Dave Gaskin Trophy for Technical Excellence.

Iona Duncan

Iona played her harp at a function. Dame Beryl Grey was there and presented Iona with flowers for her performance.
Everyone felt very proud of Iona and privileged that Dame Beryl took the trouble to give a speech about Iona and her music.

Summer School 2011 – Wicked

The show for this year’s summer school is Wicked. Summer School runs 25th – 29th July from 9am – 4pm

Another very successful year, for the Betty Wivell Academy. Congratulations to all pupils and teachers for these amazing results!

We have been invited to perform at this years Mayor Show at the Fairfield Halls on Sunday 6th March at 6pm
This is a huge honour and we are delighted to be invited back again, having performed there last year for the first time.
